POSITION DETAILS

White Bear Yacht Club is looking for skilled cooks who are passionate about food and creating an excellent dining experience for the members. We are looking for banquet cooks, grill and sauté cooks, as well as a cook for our Galley Kitchen, a summer poolside restaurant. We have a well-maintained, clean kitchen with a large workspace for each cook. We encourage our staff to be creative and bring new ideas to the table.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sets up assigned station as required for daily service.
  • Assures quality and quantity of mise en place for daily service./li>
  • Serves proper portions in the proper presentation for every item prepared.
  • Notifies Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef or Executive Chef of expected product shortages.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and sanitary workstation.
  • Adheres to all state and local health code regulations.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and follows personal cleanliness rules.
  • Uses prep list for assignment reference and updates prep list on regular basis./li>
  • Assists with any additional duties as assigned by Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef.
  • Exceed member expectations at every opportunity

REQUIREMENTS

  • One year of experience working in the kitchen of a dining facility required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members, managers, and employees.
  • Ability to use kitchen tools and appliances safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of fine dining meal preparation preferred.
